The ornithologist Abby gets an assignment to follow up the photographer Alice Hughes studies of the bald headed eagle in Alaska that was done in the 1970-ies. As guide she's assigned Eric, grandson to Alice, who will show Abby the way to the secret valley where Alice performed her studies.
