Amane brought Mahiru along for a visit to his hometown. After dinner, at the behest of his mother, Shihoko, his father, Shuto, took Mahiru out shopping, leaving Amane and Shihoko behind to clear the dishes. During this time, Shihoko asked about the nature of Amane and Mahiru's relationship; flustered at having been seen right through, Amane grew flustered, yet Shihoko happily remarked that he was delighted at the prospect of gaining a daughter. Meanwhile, upon returning home, Mahiru mentioned that Shuto had shared some adorable anecdotes about Amane's childhood—a revelation that left Amane so mortified with embarrassment that he wished the ground would swallow him whole.
